The Wedding: Aisle To Forever

This is where it all began, the joining of our paths to form this family. We started down this road by getting engaged on 3.18.18 which give us a little over a year to plan the perfect wedding. With the help of an amazing wedding coordinator company, all of the vendors that were chosen helped this be a very low stress process and we wouldn’t do it any differently. Not to sound biased, but our wedding was the best and the day was perfect. Here is a little walk through from what that day was like…

We picked the best place and time of year, because it was the perfect weather. We got married on a beautiful spring day in Phoenix in the backyard of Lindsey’s aunt and uncle’s house. We did our ‘first look’ in front of Lindsey’s grandma’s cottage along with pictures with our dogs, which we were really happy with how they turned out. It was great to get that time with just us to soak in the moment and gravity of this day, plus to not let it all go by in a blur.

The ceremony was performed so well, thanks to my groomsman, Michael, who officiated for us. He read our story which included some of our background, how we met, what we love about each other and the crossing of our paths…it was put together so great and eloquently captured us. We were taking in the words while also making goofy and smiley faces at each other plus took time to look around at our family and friends to take mental snapshots, which definitely brought on some tears.

Our reception was such a blast. Everyone raved about the food that was prepared by a local pizza food truck catering company that consisted of bruschetta, chopped salad, wood-fired pizza options and gourmet mac and cheese. We had our first dance to 'Always Remember Us This Way’ by Lady Gaga, which had been from a movie we saw that came out while we were engaged (A Star Is Born) and then that led to a party on the dance floor where most of the guests joined us in celebrating the day and making it so much fun.

We can’t believe our wedding day is now something of the past and that we are moving on to building a life together but we are so happy with how this day went. It was so special to us and now we can’t wait to start this journey as a family.
